MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACTGDIT is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer Dev Sec Ops with expertise in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud to provide engineering support for our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program. This role supports critical missions for U.S. Army Europe and AFRICOM, focusing on cloud environments and data engineering solutions.
How a Cloud Data Engineer will make an impact:As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will play a key role in implementing and optimizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments for our customers, while also contributing to projects involving AWS and Azure. You will leverage your knowledge in Google Cloud tools and services to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions, ensuring seamless integration across multi-cloud platforms.
Your responsibilities will include:- Architecting, analyzing, and supporting modern cloud environments, with a primary focus on a multi-cloud environment team using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, and Azure cloud platforms.
- Utilizing Google Cloud-native tools alongside AWS and Azure services to analyze environments and provide actionable recommendations for cost savings and optimization strategies.
- Performing analysis and supporting multiple cloud services, architecture, and storage solutions across Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure platforms.
Bring your expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Cloud Engineer Senior must have:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including familiarity with its core services and tools; 3-4 years of hands‑on experience in a cloud engineering role, with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform, for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Hands‑on expertise with Ansible for configuration management and automation of IT environments.
- Extensive knowledge of modern cloud design and engineering principles, with deep expertise in AWS and Azure ecosystems, and working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proficiency in deploying and managing Kubernetes and/or ECS, including container orchestration across multi‑cloud environments.
- Dev Sec Ops experience, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines across cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and/or Power Shell for automation and cloud operations.
- Strong Linux administration skills.
- Superior knowledge of Agile methodologies and iterative development principles in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented environment.
- Candidates should possess the ability to deploy and manage resources across multiple cloud environments using code and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, rather than manual, click‑based operations. We value engineers who automate deployments and configurations, ensuring repeatability, scalability, and efficiency without relying on manual processes.
Security clearance level: Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance.

- 4+ years of experience as a Cloud Analyst/Engineer, with a focus on AWS and/or Azure cloud services.
- 1-2 years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including exposure to its core services and tools.
- Proficiency with AWS, Azure, GCP cloud services, including Amazon S3, and AWS CLI.
- Experience with Python, Terraform, and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and or Docker.
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
- At least one current cloud certification (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Must obtain ITIL v5 Foundations certification within 90 days of employment if not already certified.
