Leidos is looking for a Dev Ops Engineer on a 200+ FTE technical development program responsible for delivering modern Identity Access Credential Management (ICAM) solutions. As a Dev Ops Engineer on this program, you will have the opportunity to build strong systems and software utilizing cloud capabilities to support a complex program. Based in Dev Ops framework, you will participate in and/or direct major deliverables throughout all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement,
- Solving higher level and larger scope technical problems
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug automation solutions for development, test and production environments.
- Ability to take high level requirements from senior engineers and program management and break the work down into smaller tasks for implementation.
- Makes process, program and automation recommendations to the project or program.
- Develop, prototype and deploy solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions leveraging Infrastructure platform services
- Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases
- Analyze (through proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing) and effectively coordinate Infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs
- Use industry leading Dev Ops tools like Git Hub, Jenkins, Unix bash scripting
- Document and perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments
- Communicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectiveness.
- Leverage Atlassian tool suite like JIRA and Confluence to track activities and document procedures
- Apply and identify best practices and standard operating procedures
- Create innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Requires a BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree.
- Expert in the software development lifecycle, with experience delivering within Dev Ops toolsets/practices and continuous integration / continuous development
- Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools, such as J-Meter
- Experience with development in Commercial Cloud Platforms (ex, AWS, Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Experience with development leveraging cloud data services (ex: AWS S3, Open Search, EFS, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Well versed with using version control systems such as git
- Well versed with using issue/problem tracking systems
- Proficient with common Agile practices and environment, service-orientated environments, and development practices
- Must be able to work independently to develop solutions to technical problems.
- Interested and eager to learn
- Experience in programming with Java, Java Script
- Experience with puppet, shell scripting, NESTJS, Swagger, NodeJS, Elastic Search
- UX best practices and Human Centered Design.
- Experience in AWS Data management services
- Experience with the authentication, identity and access management
- AWS Dev Ops and/or Sys Ops certifications
- Hands on database experience with MySQL, RDS and Oracle
- Experience with containerization
