Reindeer Tek is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, build, and maintain mission networks in a classified environment. You will work directly with government stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure software that supports operational missions. Engineers should have strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP), VLANs, DNS, and OSI models, and experience with multi-vendor environments including Cisco and Juniper equipment.

Familiarity with network monitoring tools like Solar Winds, Net Flow, and Wireshark is helpful.

This role responsible for designing, planning, and building communications networks, including LAN, WAN, and VPN systems. They configure routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, monitor network performance, and ensure network integrity and compliance with policies. Responsibilities also include performing maintenance and upgrades, troubleshooting network incidents, and providing Tier-2/Tier-3 support. Engineers may also evaluate new technologies, coordinate hardware/software acquisitions, and provide guidance to less-experienced personnel.

• Design and implement LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN infrastructure including routing protocols, VLANs, and redundancy architectures
• Configure and manage network devices using CLI and automation tooling
• Troubleshoot network performance degradation, packet loss, and outage events using packet capture and SNMP monitoring tools
• Evaluate and deploy network security controls including firewall rule sets, NAC policies, and VPN concentrator configurations
• Maintain IP address management (IPAM) systems and ensure accurate DNS and DHCP records across all network segments
• Plan and execute network changes through a change management process, including rollback procedures and maintenance window coordination
• Integrate on-premises infrastructure with AWS, Azure, or GCP networking services including Direct Connect, Express Route, and transit gateways
• Document network topology, device configurations, and runbooks to support operations and disaster recovery procedures

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• 7+ years of professional network engineering experience.
• Working proficiency in scripting, automation, or tooling.
• Ability to work onsite in Chantilly, VA or McLean, VA, five days per week.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work directly with government customers and technical teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud.
• Prior experience supporting Intelligence Community or DoD programs.
