Facility Manager

Overview

Reworld is seeking a Facility Manager for our Lorton, VA site. The role requires a leader skilled in developing teams, promoting safety, and encouraging collaboration with experience in paper mills, power plants, and chemical manufacturing. Veterans and transitioning military personnel are encouraged to apply.

• Safety:
  Ensure safe and environmentally responsible operations at the site. Oversee and promote effective Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and practices.
• Productivity:
  Coordinate all outages and maintenance planning, utilizing regional and corporate resources when necessary. Lead site operations to meet or exceed business objectives and Annual Operating Plan targets. Maintain cost effectiveness through aggressive productivity and asset management. Develop long‑term maintenance, staffing, operational, and budgetary plans. Execute strategies to increase operational discipline, productivity, quality, reliability, and employee engagement. Champion Six Sigma/Lean tools for plant improvement.
• Customer/Community Relations:
  Represent Reworld in local government, community, and industry groups. Develop relationships to improve performance with key clients. Build positive working relationships within the global organization and serve as point‑of‑contact for broader company initiatives.
• Supervision:
  Improve and develop organizational capabilities through performance management and resource planning. Drive cultural change, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset. Develop and maintain an effective site leadership team. Motivate the team to encourage personal and professional growth with clear goals for all functional areas. Champion programs addressing employee satisfaction, training, communication, technology transfer, process improvement, and departmental structure.

• 5–10 years of progressive power plant or power generation experience.
• In‑depth knowledge of manufacturing operations, project planning, cost control, and program management.
• Experience in Six Sigma tools;
  Lean, Black Belt, or Green Belt certification preferred.
• Proven track record of implementing HS&E programs and business initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization and external customers.
• Previous management experience in power generation environments, including waste‑to‑energy, coal‑fired, biomass, nuclear, or combined‑cycle plants.
• Strong leadership skills as a team player and driver of value‑added results.
• Excellent internal and external communication and team‑building skills.
• Ability to recognize diverse talents and perspectives to achieve results and develop all levels of the organization.
• Experience building (or rebuilding) process/system‑focused structure.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

• Frequently ascends or descends ladders, stairs, elevated walkways, and ramps.
• Frequently lifts or moves objects up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Requires working near operating mechanical parts and mobile equipment, often in wet, humid conditions with vibrations.
• Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment such as hearing protectors and respirators as necessary.

Base Pay: $ – $ USD per annum (location based). Final salary will be determined by experience, education, and other factors.
