Electrical Account Manager – Data Center | Chantilly, VA

Overview

A fast-growing design-build contractor operating exclusively in the data center sector is seeking an Electrical Account Manager to own client relationships, drive service revenue, and deliver mission-critical electrical service projects to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong client relationships - acting as a trusted technical advisor, serving as the primary point of contact for all service communications, and identifying opportunities to cross-sell and grow accounts
• Conduct on-site visits with clients and field technicians to evaluate service needs, explain scopes of work, and ensure safe and accurate project delivery across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and data center environments
• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for client projects and partner with field teams to ensure scopes are realistic and deliverable
• Manage service contracts, agreements, and client negotiations
• Generate new leads and business development opportunities - identifying growth potential within existing accounts and representing the company at industry events and networking opportunities
• Collaborate with field technicians to provide technical guidance on mission-critical power, cooling, and electrical systems
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for all service activities and client projects
• Provide strategic insights from the field to refine service offerings, improve processes, and align client service strategies with overall business goals in partnership with leadership

Requirements

• Active Journeyman Electrician License or higher in the state of employment
• 5+ years of hands-on field experience in electrical work across commercial, industrial, or data center environments
• Strong understanding of critical power systems including UPS, switch gear, and generators
• Proven ability to transition from technical fieldwork into a client-facing or account management role - experience with estimation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and budget management strongly preferred
• Knowledge of data center cooling systems, environmental controls, and colocation environments a plus
