About the role
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for mechanical work in support of the overall facility operation and the power generation plant. The role includes performing mechanical maintenance on rotating machinery and equipment, boilers, support systems, cranes, structural supports, piping systems, and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a wide variety of mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and fabrication, including pipe fitting, rigging, assembly and disassembly of plant operation equipment, conveyors, piping systems, reinforced plastic, and sheet metal systems.
- Dismantle, overhaul, reassemble, and adjust turbines, generators, boilers, pumps, valves, and other auxiliary equipment.
- Inspect and lubricate all plant equipment routinely and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
- Perform heavy lifting and rigging tasks.
- Use burning torch and welding equipment to perform repair welding, mechanical repairs, piping, and valve packing.
- Perform integrity tests on piping and other plant equipment.
- Plan job details, develop, and use sketches, blueprints, and complex drawings.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of experience.
- Current valid driver’s license required.
- Experience with boilers, cranes, soot blowers, motors, turbines, condensers, and conveyors.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Walk, stand, sit, climb and handle temperature changes, including extreme heat.
- Lift/carry 50 lbs and push/pull 100 lbs.
- Qualify to wear a full‑face respirator.
- Occasionally exposed to heights up to 225 feet above ground level; works off scaffolding and ladders.
After training (a couple of weeks of 8‑hour days Monday‑Friday), the shift will change to 12‑hour rotating day/night shifts on a 5‑on‑2‑off or 2‑on‑5‑off rotation. Shifts may change during outages.

Pay range for the primary location: $82,900.00 – $ USD. The final salary will be determined based on experience, education, location, skills, and other factors as noted in the posting.
