Systems Engineer
Title:
Sr Systems Engineer – K seeks a Sr. Space Systems Engineer to work onsite at Schriever SFB, near Colorado Springs, CO.
K provides satellite support services to our mission‑critical customers, conducting real‑time on‑orbit support, launch ascent support and end‑of‑life operations for operative missions. We collect performance data on launches for the intelligence community and commercial industries. The Senior Systems Engineer will serve as a single operational and engineering interface to the Satellite Control Network (SCN).
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Space Systems and satellite systems engineering leadership to develop system requirements and provide systems engineering solutions.
- Assist in end‑to‑end system support, planning, and task development.
- Modernize space and ground systems.
- Investigate and resolve software issues.
- Support risk management processes and methods.
- Develop documents and briefings to communicate work status, including briefs to government as required.
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ experience, OR master’s degree with at least 3 years’ experience, OR high school diploma/equivalent with at least 9 years’ experience (may be considered in lieu of degree).
- Systems engineering experience.
- Understanding of systems engineering principles and processes.
- Familiarity with Agile development.
- Experience with satellite operations or similar systems.
- Top Secret SCI with a polygraph.
- Program management experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Server system administration and troubleshooting experience on Linux, Windows servers/clients, and Oracle/SQL databases.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to project and program management, technical managers, and customers.
- Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders across internal and external organizations.
- Strong foundation in systems engineering processes.
- Experience with systems integration and system/software testing, including virtualized environments.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Unix environments.
- Security+ or another DoD 8570 approved certification.
Basic salary range: $120,500 - $160,800 USD annually, based on selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
