Psychiatric/Mental Health (PMH) Registered Nurse
The Psychiatric/Mental Health (PMH) Registered Nurse plays a vital role in delivering holistic, patient-centered care by integrating nursing expertise with psychosocial and neurobiological knowledge. PMH nurses are dedicated to promoting mental well-being through prevention, education, and early intervention, while also providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to make timely, effective decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The PMH RN collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and demonstrates excellence in coordinating care across diverse settings, including hospitals, clinics, and community environments. Care is provided to individuals, families, and communities, with a focus on compassionate, evidence-based practice.
Minimum Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- Completion of TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, as required)
- Current health certificate in accordance with contract or state regulations
- Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
