ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented and certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician I to join our Chantilly team. We offer opportunities for professional development with additional incentives as you advance your skills and gain experience. In this role, you'll collaborate and develop with experienced project management professionals to safely perform a variety of tasks in the Field Services department.
Responsibilities- Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement on construction sites; execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers.
- Conduct routine field tests for soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance.
- Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspections; draft administrative work as required; prepare field reports documenting site observations and field work performed.
- Maintain daily communication with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers; keep supervisors and project teams informed of changing site conditions and additional testing requested; attend project meetings with senior staff as requested.
- Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices.
- Support you in further enhancing your professional skills.
- Encourage continued participation in internal and external training programs and certification opportunities provided by organizations such as ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, RCI, and various State DOTs, WACEL, and others.
- 2+ years of experience.
- High School diploma or GED.
- 2 basic certifications.
- 4 advanced certifications.
- OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
- Ability to carry 40-70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lift 85 lbs to waist height.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Suitable transportation for job sites; mileage reimbursed.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies.
- Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
- Excellent understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors.
- Proficiency with electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops).
- Strong math skills with ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
- E-4/E-5
- Qualified if meet the education, certification, and license requirements listed above.
Pay Range: $25-$30 per hour, with final compensation determined based on location and individual qualifications.
