The Bulk Account Merchandiser Specialist is a critical support role in the POD Model of the One Tier Sales Strategy, operating 24/7. The role supports the transition of Dollar General and some independent groceries from Small Store to the Large Store channel. The BAM Specialist provides vacation coverage, serves as first call point for late PM/early AM weekends, and acts as liaison between customer, merchandiser, and driver for order refusals or inventory overload.
The BAM Specialist executes weekend operational plans with minimal additional influence on strategy changes and keeps the DSM apprised as appropriate.
- Fills, merchandise, and rotates products on display and the shelf according to procedures and special programs; provides vacation coverage.
- Manages, sells, and executes on an assigned group of customers on daily, pre-set routes; generates sales orders based on the assigned delivery frequency to ensure day-to-day success and directly contribute to the company's financial performance in terms of revenue, volume, and gross profit.
- Executes applicable promotions and new products based on target lists, monthly Look of Success (LOS) initiatives, marketing promotions, point-of-sale, and commercial plans to ensure excellence in RED (Right Execution Daily) scores for assigned customers.
- Organizes and maintains back room by stacking and arranging product by package and flavor, returning empty pallets and shells, damaged and out-of-date product to the branch.
- Creates and distributes point-of-sale materials on display and shelves when permitted; rotates product; fills and merchandises Fastlane merchandisers and vendors; checks vendor to ensure proper operation.
- Fosters business relationships with store personnel through routine follow-up on requests, proactive pricing, special programs, new opportunities, and upcoming activities discussion.
- Identifies and communicates competitive or market issues that could impact business, and executes all job duties safely.
