Life Safety Sprinkler Systems Service Sales Representative
This role focuses on selling fire sprinkler services (repairs, upgrades, moves, adds, changes, renovations, retrofits) to commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.
Responsibilities- Sell fire sprinkler services to assigned customer base.
- Manage the entire sales cycle: opportunity discovery, solution development, design preparation, contract creation, negotiation, closing, and post‑sale service.
- Collaborate with sales, technical, design engineering, service, support, and management teams to meet customer needs.
- Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to communicate product offerings.
- Close sales to meet or exceed sales plan objectives.
- Maintain and grow an active proposal backlog to support the sales plan.
- Assume account management responsibilities, including coordination of services (installation, customer training, etc.) to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Develop financial justifications, prepare proposals, present, and follow up for successful closing of sales.
- Investigate and resolve issues such as delivery dates, billing, financing, and related matters.
- Maintain established accounts through regular contact to pursue additional sales.
- Conduct periodic market investigations in assigned territory and provide sales forecasts.
- Perform building surveys to support estimate development.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales‑related activities.
- Minimum of 2+ years experience in the fire sprinkler industry.
- Self‑motivated, strong desire to succeed, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent sales, presentation, and closing techniques.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in PCs, including Word, Excel, Salesforce, and Windows operating systems.
- Ability and willingness to work as a team player.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Technical knowledge of fire sprinkler systems (preferred).
- Experience selling in the fire industry (preferred).
- Familiarity with reading blueprints, NFPA 13 standards, and local codes.
- NICET certification in inspection/testing of water‑based systems or water‑based systems layout (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or engineering (preferred).
Salary Range: $60,000 – $90,000. Competitive sales incentive plan based on project volume and margin, quarterly and annually. Inclusive of a comprehensive benefits package.
