Service Technician - Chantilly, VA

Overview

The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing commercial and industrial HVAC and mechanical systems. This position works independently in the field and represents the company at customer sites, ensuring high-quality workmanship, safety compliance, and strong customer service.

• Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems including air handlers, rooftop units, chillers, boilers, pumps, VRF systems, and controls
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, piping, hydronic, refrigeration, and related system issues in the field
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections under service agreements
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications
• Maintain accurate service documentation including work orders, materials used, and labor hours
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams regarding system conditions, findings, and recommendations
• Ensure work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company standards, union requirements, and OSHA guidelines
• Coordinate with dispatch and service management to ensure timely completion of service work
• Maintain required tools, equipment, and company vehicle
• Participate in on-call rotation as required

• 3+ years of commercial mechanical/HVAC service experience preferred
• Possess an active HVAC journeymen or masters license in MD, DC, or VA
• Completion of recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, boilers, chillers, hydronic systems, and controls preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

$55-$65 per hour (DOE)
