Low Voltage Technician
As a Low Voltage Technician, you will learn and develop the necessary skills to become an effective member of a technical team. With typically one year of experience in the structured cabling industry, you will be responsible for various installation tasks including work area outlets and cable routing.
Responsibilities- Install work area outlets for floor, modular furniture, and wall using appropriate methods.
- Drop cable down walls using fish tape or other methods and route cable through modular furniture.
- Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, form, dress cables, and determine length, slack, and label cables.
- Suspend and support cables correctly using cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, bridal rings, and trapeze.
- Build closets, mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware.
- Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
- Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, pull cable through sleeves and core penetration.
- Terminate low-voltage devices.
- Follow prints accurately.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and on time including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers.
- Experience in the construction industry, cabling, and cable termination testing.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Skills in terminating, pulling fiber, Cat 5, Cat 6, and fiber optic cables.
Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic construction industry knowledge preferred.

Work EnvironmentThe work site is based in Manassas, VA with flexibility required for other projects in Northern Virginia (NOVA). The schedule is Monday to Friday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with extended hours from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM as needed, including Saturdays.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chantilly, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
