Software Developer SME, ACTIVE TS/SCI with FS Poly Required

Full-Time | On-site in Chantilly, VA | Cloud & Full-Stack Focus

Lion Federal is seeking an experienced Software Developer SME to support mission‑critical systems for a federal client. This role focuses on modernizing legacy applications, building cloud‑based solutions, and contributing to scalable, secure software in an Agile environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications in cloud environments (AWS)
  • Modernize and transition legacy applications to cloud-based architectures
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and full-stack applications
  • Work with Java, Spring Boot, Angular (Type Script), and Elasticsearch
  • Build and manage custom ETL processes
  • Write scripts to deploy and configure applications in EC2 environments
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Perform unit testing, peer code reviews, and automated testing (e.g., Selenium)
  • Support containerized and virtualized environments
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices
Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 15+ years of experience (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
Strong Experience With
  • Java
  • Spring Boot
  • Angular (Type Script)
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience developing solutions based on customer requirements and specifications
  • Hands‑on experience with custom ETL development
  • Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Selenium, and Rundeck
  • Comfortable working in Linux command‑line environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with identity and accessibility development practices
  • Experience with automation and testing frameworks
  • Background in containerization and modular development
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles
  • AWS certification
