As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will support research, design, and implement cutting‑edge algorithms for a program focused on building advanced simulations using 3D tools such as PyTorch3D, Unity, or Unreal Engine to train computer vision models. This requires coding in Python with PyTorch/PyTorch3D, maintaining development environments, supporting ML tools, and contributing to the program’s source code with data‑science techniques.

As part of the Agile team, you’ll implement machine‑learning applications and software systems at scale, mentor other engineers, and develop technical knowledge to keep the team at the cutting edge. You’ll:

• Collaborate with a cross‑functional team comprising other ML Engineers, Software Engineers, Dev Sec Ops  Engineers, and Data Scientists.
• Develop machine learning models and pipelines integral to mission success within the computer‑vision platform.

• 6+ years of hands‑on experience developing and implementing ML algorithms.
• Practical experience training and deploying Machine Learning models, ideally with PyTorch, PyTorch3D, Num Py, Tensor Flow.
• Understanding of ML techniques focusing on 3D computations and back propagation using 3D tensors and transforms.
• Familiarity with simulation engines such as Blender, Unity, and Unreal Engine.
• Experience building or utilizing simulation engines to validate computer‑vision model performance.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP); AWS preferred.
• Proven experience with modern software development practices including Scrum/Agile, Git, and Dev Sec Ops  (Git Lab CI/CD).
• Experience building and maintaining ML pipelines.
• Experience with container applications such as Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift.
• Strong Python programming and scripting skills.
• Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
• Passion for innovation, exploring new data modalities, and working across interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience with synthetic data generation for training and evaluation of ML models.
• Experience working with customers to optimize ML objectives.
• Fast learner, analytical thinker, creative, hands‑on, with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working with LLMs for problem solving and code production responsibly.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 10–15 pounds at times.

Clearance: Active TS/SCI preferred. Ability to obtain/maintain Secret level security clearance. US Citizenship is required.

Location/Flexibility: Vienna, VA and Chantilly, VA with remote flexibility.
