The Opportunity
As an AWS Geospatial Software Engineer, you will resolve problems with end-to-end geospatial solutions in a fast, agile environment. You will develop software and systems from vision to production‑ready, applying expertise in geospatial data processing and spatial algorithms at scale.
ResponsibilitiesThis role is more than just coding. You will master new tools and techniques, identify needed system improvements, and help clients overcome their most difficult challenges using architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. You’ll ensure solutions consider architecture, operating environment, future functionality, and enhancements.
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in software with a cloud‑first development approach
- 5+ years of back‑end development experience in languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++; front‑end experience in JavaScript, Type Script, HTML, or CSS
- 3+ years of enterprise application development focused on geospatial data processing and spatial algorithm development
- 3+ years of AWS services and cloud‑native architecture experience (ECS/EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, EC2, RDS, Dynamo
DB, IAM, security groups, network security) - 3+ years of Infrastructure as Code experience (AWS CDK, Terraform, Cloud Formation)
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS) and orchestration
- Experience developing and deploying production geospatial applications from concept to operation and maintenance
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and security documentation
- Database administration and optimization experience (RDS, Dynamo
DB, Mongo
DB) - Experience with serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway)
- Leadership experience in technical initiatives in large‑scale environments
- System design experience with focus on scalability and reliability
- Geospatial UI development and Dev Ops mechanisms for AI/ML applications
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements
- AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer)
- IAT Level II+ Certification (Security+, CISSP)
Applicants will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary range: $86,800.00 - $ (annualized USD). Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week are eligible for Booz Allen’s benefit programs.
