Software Engineer TS​/SCI CI Poly | Java & Kubernetes

SMX has an immediate opportunity for a Software Engineer who is excited to apply their talents to our customer's challenging project and one who will thrive in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is a recognized professional with hands‑on expertise and an excellent understanding of engineering processes supporting large, National Defense, Agile software development programs. With a team of system and software engineers in a fast‑paced environment you will be an integral part of Intel Community programs.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and deploy features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Java. Utilize Git Lab, Git Lab Runner, Docker, Kubernetes and Helm Charts for deployments.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Utilize Jira for project management and tracking.
• Apply standards and protocols to ensure compliance and security.

• Clearance: TS/SCI CI Polygraph
• On‑site support Monday - Friday in Chantilly, VA, Herndon, VA or Aurora, CO
• Security+ certification
• Experience in Java development utilizing various libraries such as Spring Boot, Mockito, Lombok, OpenAPI (Swagger) and other similar libraries developing RESTful services.
• The software application is managed through Git and built using Gradle.
• Other third‑party applications that are utilized include Kafka, Mongo
  
  DB, Active
  
  MQ and/or NiFi.
• Applications are containerized and deployed to a Kubernetes cluster using Helm Charts.

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is also desired.
