Front End Software Engineer
We are looking for an experienced front‑end developer who will use equal parts skill and vision to create an experience that delivers functionality and efficiency. The role involves leading a development team, mentoring teammates, and collaborating with UI/UX designers and back‑end developers to build web applications with a user‑centric design using React.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a front‑end development team.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers and back‑end developers to create seamless user experiences.
- Ensure accessibility across browsers, platforms, and devices while meeting WCAG and security requirements.
- Implement performance optimizations such as code‑splitting, lazy loading, and Lighthouse improvements.
- Conduct code reviews, manage Git‑based workflows, and support continuous integration.
- Gather user requirements and translate them into effective UI designs.
- 5+ years of experience in software development with front‑end programming languages and web development stacks such as Python, React, Node.js, Next.js, or CSS.
- Experience with Type Script for scalable front‑end development.
- Experience writing automated front‑end unit, component, or E2E tests using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Experience implementing performance optimization techniques such as code‑splitting, lazy loading, or Lighthouse‑based improvements.
- Experience gathering user requirements to inform UI designs.
- Ability to apply WCAG
508 compliance beyond basic requirements. - Proficiency in Git‑based workflows, including pull request reviews, branching strategies, and CI checks.
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Experience with code reviews, system design, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience with AWS cloud technologies and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
- Experience collaborating closely with designers on usability improvements.
- Experience delivering front‑end applications through cloud‑native architectures such as hosting SPAs on S3 or Cloud Front and integrating with AWS Lambda API Gateway.
- Experience with modern CSS approaches such as Tailwind CSS, Styled Components, Emotion, or Sass.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git Hub Actions or Git Lab CI.
- Knowledge of API integration and UX heuristics.
- Ability to work with automated testing tools for testing and maintenance.
Applicants selected will need TS/SCI clearance with polygraph as a required condition for access to classified information.
CompensationThe projected compensation range for this position is $77,600 to $176,000 annually, varying by location and experience.
