Software Developer, Java Developer, Software Engineer

GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer on our EMITS 2 program in Wiesbaden, Germany.

• Develop, code, deploy and maintain web applications and websites.
• Perform software development tasks including analysis, design, development, unit and integration testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Provide application development and technical support for customer websites.
• Offer technical consultation in new systems development, new package evaluations and enhancements of existing systems.
• Prepare functional specifications, then design, code, test, debug and document programs.
• Participate in technical design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of website enhancements.
• Plan, schedule and conduct systems tests, monitor test results and take appropriate corrective action.
• Prepare technical user guides and potentially provide guidance and leadership to less‑experienced staff.

• Education
  :
  Bachelor’s Degree (additional years of experience can substitute).
• Experience
  : 5 years of relevant experience.
• Technical Skills
  :
  • Advanced JavaScript knowledge, AJAX, jQuery, Angular, Type Script and associated JavaScript debugging capabilities.
  • Strong Angular experience.
  • Web Services knowledge (SOAP and REST), Filters, Handlers, Servlets, Server‑Sent Events (SSE), and Web Sockets.
  • Core knowledge of Java, Java EE, Java Collections Framework, Java Servlets, EJBs, JAX, KML, and Java API for KML.
  • Familiarity with JDBC SQL queries in SQL Server, No
    
    SQL JavaScript queries in Mongo, and JDBC SQL queries in Hyper
    
    SQL.
  • Knowledge of web servers, Java application servers and servlet containers such as JBoss Wild Fly, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, and Jetty.
  • Geospatial concepts, imagery, overlays, vectors, point features, KML, GeoJSON, OVL.
  • Familiarity with Net Beans and its plug‑in framework.
  • Version control systems (Subversion, JIRA, Git) and collaboration tools (Confluence).
• Communication
  :
  Strong written communication skills to produce and deliver reports and briefing materials.
• Security Clearance
  :
  Active Secret Clearance.
• Citizenship
  : U.S. citizenship required.
• Certifications
  :
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level
    
    II certification on day1 of hire.
  • ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.
• TESA Requirements
  :
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience; or Associate degree plus 7 years; or major certification plus 7 years; or 11 years of recent specialized experience.
