DescriptionNorthrop Grumman’s Mission Systems requires a Dev Ops Software Engineer to support SIGINT payloads on various airborne and ground platforms. This role will be located in Chantilly, VA at the SIGINT Technology Center.
Program OverviewThis team works on a portfolio of 9 different system types and 32 fielded systems globally, providing 24/7/365 SME support. The Dev Ops Engineer will support O&M task orders, build and deploy systems, and maintain infrastructure for integration labs and production environments.
Roles And Responsibilities- Design, develop, document, test, and debug software development environments and pipelines
- Develop procedures to ensure data pipeline integrity and reliability
- Build and maintain computer images (Linux and Windows)
- Manage software repositories
- Develop and execute system builds and deployments on System Integration Labs (SILs) and development environments
- Support system design, testing, and building of upgraded capabilities to include software and hardware integration and test (I&T)
- Conduct multidisciplinary research when needed and collaborate with engineers in planning, design, development, and utilization of Dev Ops systems for SILs, testing, or production
- Obtain knowledge of system and software architecture & mission operations
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent STEM discipline with at least 5 years of experience, Master’s with at least 3 years, PhD with at least 1 year, or Associate’s with at least 7 years
- US citizenship with an active Secret clearance; willing to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Background in Dev Ops for both software and hardware integration
- Experience with CI/CD best practices, automated builds and tests, quality gates, and CI tools
- Experience with network engineering (TCP/IP, VLAN, protocols)
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux OS
- Experience in documentation and process development
- Experience using a version control system (Git, Subversion, etc.)
- Knowledge of the V-model of the systems engineering process
- Strong interdisciplinary problem‑solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent STEM discipline with at least 8 years of experience, Master’s with at least 6 years, or PhD with at least 4 years
- US citizenship with an active Secret clearance; willing to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Background in Dev Ops for both software and hardware integration
- Experience with CI/CD best practices, automated builds and tests, quality gates, and CI tools
- Experience with network engineering (TCP/IP, VLAN, protocols)
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux OS
- Experience in documentation and process development
- Experience using a version control system (Git, Subversion, etc.)
- Knowledge of the V-model of the systems engineering process

- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Experience with Software development
- Experience with Development Operations (Dev Ops)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and immutable OS
- Experience with System Administration
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, and/or other cloud orchestration technologies
- Able to work independently and identify solutions to complex problems
- Experience with Data Analytics
- Experience with setting up networks using routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
- Experience with cabling physical networks and troubleshooting physical and virtual networks
- Experience writing scripts using a variety of languages (Python, MATLAB, JavaScript)
- Experience with Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) tool suite
- Knowledge of system architecture
- Knowledge of SIGINT operations
Primary Level: $114,000 – $171,000
Secondary Level: $142,200 – $213,400
