The Opportunity
Software Test Engineer
Develops solution architecture (SA) and resolves complex issues in a variety of projects through the implementation of requirements analysis, expertise support, and project supervision. Applies specific functional knowledge with working and general industry knowledge. May develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance. May review or guide activities of more junior employees.
Responsibilities• Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases with thorough documentation of results.
• Perform regression, functional, smoke, and integration testing.
• Test both back-end systems and front-end user interfaces.
• Identify, document, and report functional and usability defects.
• Evaluate requirements and develop comprehensive test scenarios and procedures.
• Contribute to solution development and moderate complex projects.
• Work independently and provide guidance to junior staff as needed.
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in software application testing
- Experience in Linux/UNIX environments
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Agile and Scrum methodologies
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- HS diploma or GED
- Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA Security, or GSEC Certification
- Experience in test case and defect management tools, including Zephyr, JIRA, and Confluence
- Experience evaluating requirements and developing comprehensive test scenarios and procedures
- Experience in cross‑functional team environments and under tight deadlines
- Experience with government contracting practices
- Experience with scripting languages
- Experience with application performance analysis and monitoring, including Elastic Stack, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats, Prometheus, and Grafana
- Ability to effectively convey issues, project status, and progress to technical teams and management, and collaborate in fast‑paced settings
- Possession of excellent organizational, planning, prioritization abilities, and analytical problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Possession of strong communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
CompensationThe projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $ (annualized USD). Salary is determined by factors including location, education, skills, and experience.
