Strategic Business Systems, Inc. (SBS) is hiring a motivated software developer to support a cutting‑edge modeling and analytics framework for the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). On this program you will work with technical leaders in cloud computing and data analytics to re‑architect, modernize, and operationalize a critical tool used across the IC to make real‑time, mission‑critical decisions.

Candidates must hold a minimum of an active secret clearance or higher.

This role involves software design and development for both new application development tasks and maintenance of existing systems. The successful candidate will be self‑motivated, able to understand technical concepts, and collaborate on technical direction with the team.

• Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software.
• Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications.
• Develop major enhancements to existing software.
• Tackle problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
• Meet with project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
• Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects for management.
• Assist in evaluating and recommending application software packages, integration tools, and testing tools.
• Resolve software problems and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
• Participate in development of program documentation.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience with full life‑cycle software development and application of industry‑proven design patterns and open‑source tools. The position requires a combination of new application development and enhancements to existing capabilities on a small team in an agile development environment.

• At least 8+ years of Java platform experience with full life‑cycle software development.
• Secret clearance or higher.
• Experience developing software using Java, Spring, RESTful services.
• Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency with software configuration management processes/tools (e.g., Subversion).

• Experience in virtualized operations and deployment.
• Ideally 10+ years of experience as a software developer.
• TS/SCI with CI Poly preferred clearance level.
• Experience with mission management/planning systems.
• Understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
