Full Stack Software Engineer

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to develop next-generation search and AI-powered applications supporting mission-critical operations. This role focuses on designing scalable web applications, developing intelligent search capabilities, integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), and building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions that enhance data discovery and user experience.

The ideal candidate has experience building modern React and Node.js applications, designing scalable search platforms with Elasticsearch, and integrating AI/LLM technologies into enterprise solutions while working within Agile and Dev Sec Ops  environments.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Lean Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, operations, cybersecurity, and testing teams to deliver scalable software solutions
• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack enterprise applications
• Build modern Single Page Applications (SPAs) using React, HTML5, CSS3, and Java Script
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js, Express, or comparable frameworks
• Design, implement, and optimize enterprise search solutions using Elasticsearch
• Develop AI-powered search capabilities, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and semantic search solutions
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into enterprise applications to enhance search, knowledge retrieval, and user workflows
• Design and implement data ingestion pipelines supporting search indexing, document chunking, embeddings, and vector search
• Develop detailed technical designs, interface specifications, and supporting documentation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business and mission requirements into technical solutions
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews to ensure software quality and reliability
• Track vendor software releases, upgrades, and patch management activities
• Utilize Dev Ops tools and CI/CD pipelines to automate software development, testing, and deployment
• Support cloud-native application development within AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments

Required Qualifications

• Must be fully cleared with a recent polygraph
• Experience working in Lean Agile software development environments
• Experience developing enterprise software applications throughout the full software development lifecycle
• Experience building AI-powered applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search, or AI-assisted retrieval systems
• Experience translating customer requirements into scalable technical designs
• Experience designing system interfaces and application architectures
• Experience developing modern Single Page Applications (SPAs) using React, HTML5, CSS3, and Java Script
• Experience developing RESTful APIs using Node.js, Express, or similar backend frameworks
• Experience troubleshooting web technologies, web services, SSL, and internet-based application protocols
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest or Karma
• Experience using Dev Ops tools including Git, Jenkins, Nexus, or similar CI/CD platforms
• Experience designing, deploying, and tuning Elasticsearch environments, including indexing strategies, querying, relevance optimization, and scalability
• Experience designing or implementing data pipelines supporting search, document ingestion, embeddings, vector search, and RAG workflows
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications

• Recent experience supporting Agile development within Intelligence Community or other secure government environments
• Experience evaluating, selecting, and integrating commercial or open-source Large Language Models into enterprise applications
• Experience with vector databases, hybrid search architectures, semantic search, and relevance optimization
• Experience leading technical teams or mentoring engineers on AI, search technologies, and modern software engineering best practices
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and enterprise AI platforms
• Experience developing scalable knowledge management or enterprise search platforms
