Ready Mix Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a concrete mixer truck to deliver ready-mix concrete to various job sites while maintaining product quality and adhering to safety standards. The driver ensures timely deliveries, communicates effectively with dispatch and customers, and upholds company and DOT compliance requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Safe Vehicle OperationOperate the ready-mix truck safely and efficiently, following all traffic laws and company safety policies.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition.
Loading and Mixing ConcreteLoad concrete from the batch plant according to the correct mix design.
Control the mixer drum speed to keep concrete uniform and prevent segregation or setting during transit.
Delivering Concrete to Job SitesTransport concrete to assigned job sites on time.
Position the truck safely for discharge and follow site-specific delivery instructions.
Discharging and Placing ConcreteOperate the controls to discharge concrete into the correct location.
Adjust slump and consistency when authorized, ensuring product quality is maintained.
Clean chutes and truck exterior after each delivery.
Communication with Dispatch and CustomersCommunicate clearly with dispatch about job progress, delays, or issues.
Interact professionally with customers and site personnel.
Report any problems, mix issues, or delivery obstacles immediately.
Truck Maintenance and HousekeepingKeep the truck clean inside and out, including drum and chute.
Report mechanical or maintenance issues promptly.
Refuel and perform basic maintenance checks daily.
Documentation and ComplianceAccurately complete delivery tickets, inspection reports, and timesheets.
Follow all DOT and company regulations related to weight limits, logbooks, and safety documentation.

- Must hold an active and current CDL with air brake endorsement.
- Class A CDL is a plus.
- No major moving violations or accidents in the last 3 years.
- Must meet all Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). requirements.
- Clean background required for employment eligibility.
- Must also pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings.
- 1-2 years of commercial driving experience preferred (ready-mix or construction industry experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with driving and operating mixer trucks safely in varied conditions.
- Able to climb ladders, handle chutes, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical labor as needed.
- Understanding of DOT hours-of-service, load securement, and on-site safety rules.
- Commitment to following company and site-specific safety standards.
- Ability to communicate clearly with dispatchers, batch plant operators, and customers.
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor at job sites.
