Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a vacuum sweeper truck and dump truck as needed.
Key Duties- Operate vacuum sweeper truck
- Operate dump truck as required
- Drive with a valid CDL class A or B and a good driving record
- Maintain safe operation of equipment and ensure proper maintenance
- Nighttime and weekend hours may be required
- Demonstrate safety awareness and follow all safety protocols
- Identify and report near‑miss incidents
- Speak up when observing unsafe acts
- Use proper personal protective equipment and tools
- Ask for help when needed to perform tasks safely
- Consider safer work methods and communicate them
- Prior experience as a vacuum truck driver (not entry level)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Good communication with supervisors and colleagues
- Tanker endorsement is a plus
- Must stand, stoop, bend, and crouch for long periods; walk on uneven surfaces
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds individually and up to 90 pounds with assistance
- Manual dexterity to handle generators, lumber, tools, and materials
- Maintain alertness to concurrent activities on the construction site
- Operate a man‑lift and climb on/off heavy mobile equipment safely
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Exposure to high levels of noise, grease, and dust associated with construction
- Regular proximity to heavy equipment and moving machinery
- Possible contact with substances such as oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, and asphalt
