A. Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor with more than 60 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Lowboy Truck Driver to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Qualification to drive, under both the DOT regulations and in the opinion of the company.
- Conduct Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Safety Inspections and document as required. Documentation turned into Dispatcher daily.
- Start engine, shift gears, press pedals and turn steering to operate truck.
- Drive standard transmission truck to various job sites to load and offload materials.
- Inspect and document lowboy trailer tires, lights, brakes, tarps, boards and frame.
Defects will be documented on Daily Inspection Log. - Maintain telephone or radio contact with dispatcher to recieve instructions.
Cell Phone use is only done when vehicle is parked and off the roadway. - Maintain a daily inspection log.
- Must keep track of expiration date ofhis/herDOT physical cardand CDL License.
- If truck breaks down:
- Know exact location of where you are.
Street and/or road name, Job name. Call into dispatcher tolet them know about truck being down. - Know roughly what broke (e.g. air line, engine failure, or flat tire).
- Know exact location of where you are.
- If job iscompletedearly, must call dispatcher. Driver will be givena new assignment.
- Loadand secure multipletypesofheavyequipment.
- Using chains and binders,equipment will meet standard legal requirements prior to leaving site.
- Putflags, warning lights,and signage in place prior to leaving site.
- Requried to climb in and out of equipment using the standard three pointcontactmethod.
- Driver must report immediately to the Dispatcher any trafficcitationseither in a company vehicle or his own personal vehicle.
- Driverisresponsibleto maintaina postive personal appearance andtomaintain the overall cleanlessness of his truck.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Less than high school education required; or up to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education experience.
- 2 years truck driving experience with at least 1 year driving a lowboy truck.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only an occasional or no variables , and the ability to follow directions to a job site.
- Must have:
Commercial Driver’s License:
ClassA; DOT Medical Card:
Up to Date.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborn particles, extreme cold, extreme heat,and vibration.
The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious placesand is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Salary
:
Hourly $32.00 to $37.00/hour
