Position Summary

The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for operating MHEs for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting. Computer data entry is required for receipts, shipments, and inventory maintenance. The Inventory Associate assists the supervisor/manager in ensuring the facility is in compliance with quality standards.

As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate warehouse inventory
  • Direct customer interface to answer questions and resolve issues
  • Return material coming from customer to factory
  • Transfer material to the appropriate area
  • Relocate material to keep and maintain inventory range and locations
  • Safe use of all equipment
  • Function autonomously, reporting progress and issues to supervisor/management
  • Follow company policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports to ensure inventory control and security; conduct physical inventory and assist daily/monthly cycle counts; support shipping/receiving in locating missing items throughout facility.
  • Perform safety audits and report/correct unsafe operations
  • Participate in daily start‑up and staff meetings; assist supervision as needed
  • Use PC skills for e‑mail and generating reports
  • Initiate action to prevent and address non‑conformities relating to product, process, and quality system, identify and record problems, recommend or provide solutions, and verify implementation
  • Review/investigate inbound and outbound functions including unloading, checking, orderly stacking, storing, order pulling, staging, labeling, and loading; ship material to factory upon client requests; notify management when procedures require updates
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area; perform housekeeping audits per operation requirements
Other Duties (Site Specific)
  • Assist leadership as needed
  • Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by the operation; participate in cross‑training matrix activities and serve as a backup associate
  • Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Safety, Housekeeping and Compliance
  • Execute safety protocols and accomplish all job tasks in a manner that promotes safety
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility; assist in security of the warehouse
  • Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards

Minimum

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 months experience in logistics/distribution or a relevant environment
  • Ability to operate MHE
  • Able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse (mild to moderate)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
  • Completion of a forklift training program
Computer Skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • RF scanners
  • WMS functions
Language Skills
  • None specified
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products

  • Effective adaptation to change and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–3 years’ experience working in an inventory department
  • 1–3 years forklift experience
  • Current or prior MHE certification
Physical Demands

Occasionally:
Hand & Finger manipulation, sitting, handling product and/or packaging materials; frequently: walking and standing; constantly: ability to lift/carry and push/pull; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat or kneel.

Work Environment

Rarely exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is usually low to moderate.
