POSITION SUMMARY
Team Lead, Operations – Full Time
Location:
USA – Chantilly, John Mosby Hwy
Hiring schedule: 2B (Tuesday through Saturday) alternating Wednesday 5:00 pm – 5:30 am. Pay: $26.50 + $2.50 shift differential.
The Logistics Coordinator has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities within the assigned area. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Operations Lead is responsible for oversight of associates dedicated to warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in their area in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Training Responsibilities
- Mentor and train new and existing associates in distribution activities to help achieve customer demands.
- Train associates on Standard Operating Procedures for shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
- Assist in forklift operation and certification for associates.
- Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, stacking of product, and picking and staging of outbound shipments.
- Verify required paperwork with drivers to ensure all products are properly counted.
- Load orders accurately and efficiently according to door and trailer assignments.
- Process all shipping/receiving/picking functions as defined by SOPs and investigate discrepancies.
- Customer Service
- Conduct professional appearance and communication in all interactions.
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, or in person.
- Prepare accurate activity reports for site management.
- Quality Control Responsibilities
- Utilize documentation to ensure products or orders are received or shipped correctly.
- Verify products meet quality standards; report damages or discrepancies.
- Perform packaging, shrink‑wrapping, and labeling as needed.
- Report inconsistencies to the Operations Supervisor or Manager.
- Participate in quality meetings.
- Safety, Housekeeping, & Compliance
- Comply with ISO, OSHA, MSDS standards and all safety protocols.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and assist with security.
- Participate in safety meetings and prevent non‑conformities.
- Labor Management
- Direct work team operations to meet productivity objectives.
- Assist associates with productivity sheets and payroll capture.
- Help establish work schedules and ensure effective assignment of jobs.
- Ensure product handling aligns with quality procedures.
- Equipment Operation
- Operate and maintain a variety of equipment: reach trucks, sweeper scrubbers, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc.
- Perform daily inspections and minor maintenance; report equipment problems.
- Maintain active forklift certification.
- Maintenance & Other Duties
- Assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as needed.
- Handle clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing.
- Work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required by business needs.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience in logistics, distribution, or a related environment.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Comfortable working in unregulated warehouse temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Completion of a forklift training program.
- Basic computer skills, RF scanner, and WMS proficiency.
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, verbal).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
- Adaptability to change in a fast‑paced environment.
- 2–4 years of warehouse/logistics experience.
- 2–4 years of forklift experience.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
Occasional hand and finger manipulation, sitting, handling product or packaging materials.
Frequent bending, lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of 21–50 pounds.
Constant walking and standing; ability to reach above shoulder, outward, squat, or kneel.
WORK ENVIRONMENTRare exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level generally low to moderate.
PAYMENT DETAILSBase pay range: $26.50 – $26.50 per week. Compensation determined by experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
