POSITION SUMMARY

The Material Handler-Warehouse Operator is responsible for operating a forklift and other material handling equipment for shipping, receiving, and picking. Activities include loading or unloading, scanning, moving, staging, replenishing, stacking product, counting, and inspecting. The associate ensures safe and efficient operation, reports discrepancies, and complies with all company policies.

Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Shipping Responsibilities
  • Use a gas or electric forklift to load outbound shipments, move product, and stack products/materials.
  • Efficiently and accurately load orders according to the appropriate doors and trailers.
  • Process all shipping functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Receiving Responsibilities
  • Use a forklift to unload inbound shipments, move product, replenish, stack, and store products/materials.
  • Locate and place products in the appropriate storage areas accurately and efficiently.
  • Process all receiving functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Picking Responsibilities
  • Use a forklift to accurately pick orders to fulfill client demands.
  • Efficiently and accurately pick products and stage them in the appropriate areas.
  • Stack, package, band, shrink wrap, and label product(s) as required by client specifications.
  • Process all picking functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Quality Control Responsibilities
  • Use appropriate documentation to ensure products and orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly.
  • Verify that products and/or orders meet quality standards and report damages or discrepancies.
  • Pack, band, shrink wrap, and label product(s) as required.
  • Process all quality control functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
  • Execute all safety protocols and perform tasks in a safety-promoting manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and a safe work area; assist in warehouse security.
  • Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
Equipment Operation
  • Operate equipment such as sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, aisle master, or pallet jack.
  • Maintain equipment, report problems, inspect and perform minor maintenance daily.
  • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
  • Maintain an active forklift certification.
Maintenance
  • Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business needs.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6 months experience in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment.
  • Ability to operate MHE.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
Other
  • Work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse; conditions may range from mild to moderate.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Computer Skills
  • Basic computer skills; use RF scanners and WMS functions.
Language Skills
  • English – reading, writing, verbal.
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities, count inventory, or perform other duties.
Other
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; complete tasks timely.
  • Perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • 1-3 years forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.
