Certified Medication Technician

Diversicare - 530 West 14th Street - Responsibilities:
Administer PRN medications under licensed nurse supervision as authorized by physician or facility policy;
Pour, pass, and document routine prescribed medications and to give PRN medications only upon instruction of the licensed nurse;
Document all PRNs according to State Standards in charting;
Observe and report adverse reactions and medication side effects to charge licensed nurse;
Take and record vital signs prior to administration of medications that could affect vital signs;
Prepare and document medications to be administered by the medication aide;
Document medications given in the resident’s clinical record;
Administer oxygen per nasal cannula or non-sealing face mask only in emergencies and notify licensed nurse on duty or on call with documentation
