UTS - Temporary Administrative Support Specialist at UNC Chapel Hill
The primary purpose of this position is to provide customer service and administrative support. The Administrative Support Specialist coordinates clinical onboarding, works with credentialing and hospital units to gain access for non‑employee affiliates, maintains the department website and social media accounts, supports the administrative needs of assigned faculty—including typing correspondence and generating reports—to promote the individuals’ clinical, research and educational goals.
Other duties include managing multiple incoming phone lines and triaging calls, greeting walk‑ins and referring visitors, handling the primary conference room calendar, managing department listservs, photocopying checks and invoices, maintaining physical and digital directory boards, coordinating office events, managing office supply inventory, coordinating mail services for faculty, staff and students, and posting important notices across campus.
As the primary operator and trainer for the administrative fax and copier, the specialist schedules maintenance as needed and is cross‑trained to fulfill responsibilities of other administrative staff when absent.

Work schedule:
40 hours;
Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
- Coordinate clinical onboarding processes for non‑employee affiliates by collaborating with credentialing teams and hospital units to ensure timely system access and compliance requirements.
- Maintain and update departmental website content and social media platforms to ensure accurate, current, and engaging communication of clinical, research, and educational initiatives.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to assigned faculty, including drafting and editing correspondence, preparing reports, compiling documentation, and supporting activities that advance clinical, research, and academic objectives.
- Manage multiple incoming phone lines, triage inquiries appropriately, and ensure efficient resolution or referral of calls.
- Other duties as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Entry‑level accounting or bookkeeping experience, records management experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, and effective problem‑solving capabilities.
- Experience with clinical onboarding processes for non‑employee affiliates.
- Experience maintaining departmental website and social media accounts.
- Experience providing administrative support to faculty, including drafting correspondence and preparing reports.
- Experience managing concurrent phone lines and triaging calls.
