Position Summary:
The Hispanic Ministry Assistant position exists to strengthen and support the parish's Hispanic ministry by coordinating its administrative, logistical, and communication needs, fostering collaboration between the Hispanic community and the broader parish. Through efficient administration, hospitality, and faithful service, the Hispanic Ministry Assistant helps advance the mission of Saint Thomas More parish by promoting the full participation of the Hispanic community in the life of the parish.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensures the accuracy of contact information for all Hispanic liturgical ministers in the parish ministry database and works to streamline scheduling of liturgical ministry volunteers
- Maintains paperwork associated with Hispanic OCIA and Adult Confirmation sacramental preparation programs; coordinates details related to the Hispanics celebration of sacraments
- Assists with Hispanic adult ministry events providing administrative support such as ordering materials, printing materials, set-up, communication with guest speakers, etc.
- Assists in communication and activities related to the Hispanic ministries.
- Maintains sections of the parish website as assigned.
- High school diploma, equivalent, or active pursuit of an equivalent credential. Must possess the strong written, verbal, and organizational skills required to manage parish records and communications.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish in both written and spoken forms.
- Proficient in Office 365 applications.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background and reference check; must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 – 2 years office administrative work experience
