Construction Materials Testing Technician
Join a growing team supporting critical construction projects throughout the Cary area. This role offers hands-on field experience performing materials testing and inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with industry standards. Ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and building a long-term career in construction and engineering services.
Perform field testing of construction materials including soil, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
Inspect materials on-site and accurately document results through detailed daily reports.
Operate testing equipment and follow established procedures to ensure reliable data collection.
Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to support testing and inspection activities.
Work in a physically active environment, including lifting, climbing, bending, and navigating uneven terrain.
Experience in construction materials testing or related construction field.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
Basic understanding of construction drawings and site plans.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally to job sites.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
NCDOT certifications.
ACI Field Technician Level I.
Nuclear Gauge User Certification.
NICET Level I (Soils, Concrete, or Asphalt).
Previous field experience in construction or engineering.
This is a field-based position located in Cary, NC, offering a mix of independence and team collaboration. Work hours may vary depending on project schedules, with opportunities for overtime including nights and weekends.

This is a Permanent position based out of Chapel Hill, NC.
The pay range for this position is $53000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
