The Dental Assistant Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of two graduate clinics, hiring, scheduling, and supervising additional Dental Assistants. The role includes providing chairside assistance to faculty and graduate students, preparing operatory and surgical trays, sterilizing instruments, managing clinic supplies, and ensuring all procedures adhere to clinic policies and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Supervise, hire, and train Dental Assistants in two graduate clinics.
- Plan, organize, and monitor the work of clinic staff.
- Assist clinical faculty in training dental, dental auxiliary, and graduate specialty students in clinical practice.
- Prepare operatory and surgical trays and ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
- Expose, process, and record radiographs.
- Interact with patients, seat them, and collect/record patient data.
- Take intraoral photographs and provide chairside assistance to students and faculty.
- Order, stock, and manage inventory of clinical supplies.
- Implement and monitor clinic policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
- At least one year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Preference for experience in a team environment, with periodontal patients, and/or supporting surgical procedures.
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens, hazardous materials, and patient care is required.
A $2,000 sign‑on bonus is available, paid in two installments: $1,000 within 30 days of hire and $1,000 twelve months after hire. Eligibility requires no prior state government employment in the last 12 months, and the bonus is contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination on the effective date of hire.
