Position Summary:
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Departments of Neurology and Genetics are seeking a full-time, tenure-track, research-emphasis clinician‑scientist faculty to join our expanding Divisions of Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology and/or Precision Neurology and Neurogenetics. The primary responsibility is to make high‑impact scientific contributions to the advancement of neurodegeneration research, with a focus on the genetics of dementia. Applicants with research blends of genetics and cognitive disorders are encouraged.
Successful applicants will develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program and participate in training students, postdoctoral researchers, residents, and fellows. Clinical activity in Neurology is expected and encouraged at a level allowable by research support.
Research Start‑up:
The position will receive a start‑up package from the Departments of Neurology and Genetics, including access to core facilities, participant samples through NIH consortia, and collaboration opportunities with other UNC schools.
Minimum
Education and Experience Requirements:
Candidate must possess an M.D., be trained in Neurology, be eligible or certified for the practice of Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and be licensed or eligible for licensure in North Carolina. Candidate must lead an extramurally funded research program at the intersection of genetics/genomics and cognitive disorders and dementia.
Preferred Qualifications:
Subspecialty training in neurogenetics and/or cognitive disorders is highly desired.
