Position SummaryThe UNC Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine is recruiting a fixed‑term Clinical Assistant Professor to manage patients with lung transplantation and other pulmonary diseases. The role includes inpatient and outpatient care before and after transplant, pulmonary subspecialty clinic duties, and complex inpatient consultations. The candidate will serve as a close liaison with multidisciplinary team members: CT surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, fellows and residents, clinical pharmacists, social workers, clinical psychologists, and financial counselors.
Additionally, the position involves regular communication with UNC Hospital and School of Medicine management.
- Co‑manage the Transplant Team with the Medical Director, overseeing coordinator, nurse practitioner, and rotating fellow.
- Assist with outreach activities and educational clinics across North Carolina.
- Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Engage in clinical or translational research in interstitial lung diseases, lung transplant medicine, or related areas.
- MD or DO degree.
- Board‑certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine.
- Completion of fellowship training in pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine.
- Additional year of Lung Transplant Fellowship preferred but not required.
