Position SummaryThe University of North Carolina School of Medicine is seeking a clinical faculty member to practice in our multi‑specialty academic practice in Wilmington, NC. This team is part of an innovative partnership between UNC Health, UNC School of Medicine and Novant Health to provide specialty care to children from communities throughout southeastern and coastal NC. The Novant Health – New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NH‑NHRMC) facility is a full spectrum community‑based, multispecialty practice and a children’s hospital that includes a 45 bed Level III NICU, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and inpatient unit.
Through the partnership between Novant Health and UNC Children’s, NH‑NHRMC is the tertiary care referral hospital for children in Coastal and Southern NC.
The faculty member will practice clinical neurology with board certification or eligibility in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology. The candidate must be able to interpret electroencephalograms (EEGs). The role involves developing and performing clinical activities in surrounding outreach locations in southeastern NC. The position is part of an expanding educational environment with medical students, other health profession students, and residents in Wilmington.
Research opportunities are also available but are not the primary focus.
The candidate must be board certified / eligible in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology and must be able to interpret EEGs.
Preferred Qualifications , Competencies, and ExperienceAdditional training in either sleep medicine or epilepsy is preferred, but not required.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary will be based on experience and aligned to community‑based specialist rates. The benefit package is extremely generous. Incentive compensation will support highly productive providers and meet other targets aligned with broad system goals.
Additional InformationPosition is full‑time, open rank clinical faculty position on the fixed term track with the option of part‑time. Proposed start date:
July 1, 2025.
