Position Summary

This position will work with the SPAO Pre-Award Research and Support Office that will work with a mix of departments in the School of Medicine. The primary purpose or focus of this position is to manage the Department/Center’s pre-award processes for all sponsored research activities, which includes the full application, maintaining existing filing systems, both electronic and hard-copy, updating existing databases and advising faculty, fellows and students in regards to the rules and regulations for multiple agencies, e.g., NIH, ACS, AHA, etc.

This position will also provide financial and operational management information as needed to the Director of Research Administration. The selected candidate will maintain a high level of independent decision making authority and responsibility and will work closely with the Director to maintain crucial support functions for the Administrative office and or departments. Such functions include but are not limited assisting with post award grant management, compiling detailed budgets;

regular communication with key University departments (HR, OSR, Provost, Dean, etc.). The position should possess a demonstrated knowledge of the university’s business functions, administrative offices, departments and federal regulations.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

Entry-level with Masters; or Bachelors and 0-2 yrs experience
