Position

Summary

The Kenan‑Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking to fill one (1) fixed‑term faculty position in the Accounting area with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be a creative and effective teacher capable of contributing to the School’s programs, primarily to our Master of Accounting (MAC) and online MAC programs.

The majority of the teaching contributions will be in the field of Auditing, including potentially in areas such as accounting information systems. Additionally, the successful candidate may be expected to contribute to service (examples include but are not limited to committee work, professional talks, and mentoring) and impact activities (examples include but are not limited to presentations at meetings and conferences, research, and publications in field of interest) that positively enhance the School, business community, and society.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

Applicants must have completed a graduate degree (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting or Business prior to beginning work activities and can anticipate an initial appointment of Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, Clinical Professor, or Professor of the Practice, depending on credentials.

Preferred Qualifications , Competencies, And Experience

A doctoral degree completed, or dissertation defense completed before the appointment date, is preferred. Additionally, it is preferred that applicants possess the versatility to teach other accounting courses beyond auditing such as financial reporting and financial statement analysis. Lastly, it is also preferred that applicants have a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience that includes undergraduate or Master of Accounting programs.
