Manager, Alumni Impact POSITION

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In North Carolina, we are cultivating a community of extraordinary leaders—beginning with our corps members and extending to our 2,300+ alumni—who are deeply committed to ensuring that every child has access to an excellent education and the opportunity to thrive. As a member of the Alumni Impact team, you will contribute to the experience, learning, and impact of TFA alumni living throughout the state.

Your unique role will be to manage alumni event operations and communications strategies, as well as maintain strong alumni data systems, in support of a thriving alumni network.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FORManage events that inspire and equip alumni to contribute to our 2030 goals (50%)
  • Design, implement, and evaluate alumni convening tactics that align to the Alumni Impact Team charge and strategic plan
  • Ensure strong logistical planning and financially efficient implementation of all convenings
  • Support individual alumni outreach, registration, and travel logistics for TFA programs and partner programs, such as programming at the Center for Creative Leadership and the Aspen Institute Executive Seminar
  • Analyze convening effectiveness, define opportunities for improvement, and make timely changes in pursuit of the broader Alumni Impact team’s goals.

Examples of convenings include, but are not limited to:

  • RISE Fellowship Program
  • Partner with the MD, Alumni Impact to execute RISE events
  • Develop and implement communications strategies for the RISE Fellowship in collaboration with the MD, Alumni Impact
  • Support the recruitment and communications initiatives of the fellowship as directed
Alumni Events Alumni Induction

Partner across Educational Impact & Alumni Impact teams to support an annual Alumni Induction event that honors Corps Member impact and marks their transition to alumni hood.

Location-based small group gatherings, such as a recent WNC Alumni Gathering

Sector- or career-specific gatherings, such as the Thought Leader Series

Virtual gatherings, such as 35th Anniversary Alumni Reunion calls

Manage alumni communications that strengthen connection, community, and engagement (20%)
  • Design, implement, and evaluate alumni communication tactics that strengthen connection, community, and engagement across the state
  • Collaborate with both Team NC as well as centralized teams to analyze communication effectiveness, define opportunities for improvement, and make timely changes in pursuit of the broader Alumni Impact team’s goals
  • Support national alumni communications campaigns, as relevant

Examples of communication tactics include, but are not limited to:

  • Alumni newsletter
  • Lead the development and distribution of the NC alumni newsletter in partnership with the Director, Strategic Initiatives to ensure timely, clear, and engaging communication aligned to the Alumni Impact team’s charge and key alumni initiatives
  • Curate content that strengthens alumni connection, highlights impact stories and career acceleration opportunities, and elevates opportunities for engagement across the NC network.
Centralized Alumni communications
  • Manage external communications through the centralized NC alumni inbox to create clearer visibility into incoming requests, reduce the risk of missed messages, and ensure that each inquiry is assigned to the right person for timely follow-up.
  • Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure appropriate voice and brand-alignment for all one-off mass emails.
Social Media Platforms
  • Manage NC alumni groups on platforms like Linked In and Facebook by posting content and replying to messages
Maintain data systems & data integrity (20%)
  • Manage NC alumni records in a CRM platform (currently Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Maintain clean stakeholder records for all NC alumni
  • Collaborate with the Director, Strategic Initiatives in making timely updates to stakeholder records
