The School of Social Work offers M.S.W. and Ph.D. degrees. Dual degrees are offered in Law, Public Health, Public Administration, and Divinity (with Duke University). The faculty members of the School of Social Work have strong collaborative relationships with many campus units such as the Schools of Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Law, Government, Education, and the Department of City and Regional Planning as well as University Centers and Institutes such as the Cecil G.

Sheps Center for Health Services Research, the Carolina Population Center, the Center for Developmental Sciences, Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute, and the Institute on Aging. We also maintain dynamic relationships with community agencies, state and federal government, and research groups in the Research Triangle Park and across the U.S.

This posting is for three (3) open-rank Practicum Education fixed-term faculty positions. By applying, applicants will be considered for all available vacancies. The School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for three open-rank Practicum Education fixed-term faculty positions (1.0 FTE). The mission of the School of Social Work is to advance equity, transform systems, and improve lives.

The curriculum supports this mission through a focus on evidence-based practice; commitment to disadvantaged, vulnerable, and oppressed individuals, families, and communities; and the design, implementation, and evaluation of social interventions. These positions will be reviewed annually for reappointment. We seek candidates to coordinate practicum education and teach graduate-level social work courses. Successful applicants will contribute to practicum education across a range of social work practice areas and teach up to four graduate courses per year.

Candidates should possess broad social work practice experience and expertise, with the ability to teach in generalist practice and either direct practice or macro practice specialization courses. Preferred qualifications may vary across positions and may include expertise in assessment and intervention with individuals, families, groups, communities, and organizations; experience in practicum education; an LCSW credential; macro-level practice experience; and demonstrated success teaching graduate-level courses or professional training programs.

These positions have a standard distribution of effort consisting of 90% teaching and instruction and 10% service and community engagement.

Applicants must possess a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree from an accredited Council of Social Work Education program and a license in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) or macro-level social work experience.
