Position: Africa Practicum, Faculty Exchange, and Regional Learning Initiative Project Coordinator

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring an Africa Practicum, Faculty Exchange, and Regional Learning Initiative Project Coordinator. The role involves coordinating an interdisciplinary practicum model in Kenya, facilitating faculty exchanges, student learning opportunities, and collaborative research activities to support global social development across multiple African countries.

Highlights
  • Develop and coordinate interdisciplinary practicum and experiential learning programs with African partners.
  • Support faculty engagement, student placements, and partnership structures at Kenyan institutions including KWCWC and USIU-Africa.
  • Manage collaborative research activities including literature reviews, protocol development, IRB submissions, data collection, and analysis.
  • Facilitate dissemination of research findings to academic, policy, community, and practitioner audiences.
  • Help expand the regional network to include universities and organizations in Zambia, Malawi, Ghana, and Rwanda for multi-country collaborations.
  • Required degree in social work, public health, international development, or related field with project coordination experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, relationship-building skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Preferred experience includes master’s degree, international education, practicum coordination, work with African institutions, and interdisciplinary community-engaged learning.
  • Proficiency with productivity and collaboration software platforms.
  • Full-time permanent position with a salary range of $66,000 to $77,000 and anticipated start date October 2026.
