The vision of the North Carolina New Teacher Support Program (NC NTSP ) is to be a leader in university-based induction support through the belief in and practice of transformative, intentional coaching to increase student achievement by improving beginning teacher effectiveness and retention.

The mission of the NC NTSP is to support beginning teachers through consistent, individualized, in-the-moment coaching aligned to individualized growth and personalized professional development.

The primary role of the NC NTSP Part-Time Instructional Coach position is to support beginning teachers through the delivery of the program’s three core services
1) professional learning institute,
2) individualized instructional coaching, and
3) aligned professional development.

This is a part-time, stated-definite term, non-faculty position in the UNC
-General Assembly New Teacher Mentoring Project administered by the College of Education at East Carolina University. This position includes travel. Required approved travel is reimbursed per NTSP policies.

Master’s degree in education, special education, instructional design, educational technology, educational media, or related discipline with coursework in curriculum development or learning theory; or a Bachelor’s degree in the assigned discipline and two years of experience in teaching, educational testing, or instructional design and curriculum development; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

• * Experience leading adult professional learning
• * Knowledge of NCSCOS , NC Professional Teaching Standards, NC DPI Induction Program, Mentor Standards or teacher leadership standards
• * Highly knowledgeable of the Teaching Fellows program and initiatives
• * Skilled in data collection, analysis, or evidence-based decision-making
