About the Role:Voltage Energy Storage is seeking a skilled Structural/Mechanical Engineer to lead a team of engineers in delivering cutting‑edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role blends technical leadership with hands‑on engineering expertise, ensuring high‑quality, compliant, and cost‑effective structural solutions. The ideal candidate is adaptable, proactive, and able to transition seamlessly between office locations as Voltage expands into new facilities.
What You’ll Do:Project Execution
- Oversee design of foundations, racking systems, enclosures, and infrastructure
- Approve design packages and structural calculations
- Support construction teams with inspections and troubleshooting
- Ensure adherence to codes (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, local)
- Maintain and enforce internal design standards
- Coordinate with permitting authorities
- Work with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams
- Collaborate with contractors and suppliers
- Provide input on procurement and vendor selection
- Standardize processes to boost efficiency
- Apply lessons learned to future projects
- Stay current on industry innovations and tool
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Structural or Civil Engineering
- Licensed PE (Professional Engineer), multi‑state registration preferred
- 4–6+ years in structural engineering (renewables, substations, or industrial)
- Proven leadership in managing engineering teams
- Expertise in steel, concrete, and foundation design
- Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP
2000, RISA, AutoCAD, Revit - Strong project management and communication skills
- Experience with BESS, solar PV, or utility‑scale renewables
- Knowledge of modular and containerized construction
- Familiarity with geotechnical investigations
