Systems Engineer, Technical Support
CFD engineers work at the intersection of classical physics, numerical methods, and computer science. We are seeking a CFD Engineer – Multiphysics to join our multi-faceted team to expand and support our growing customer base of FLOW-3D users across many application areas. In this role, you will apply your expertise across multiple fields to help clients solve complex real-world engineering problems, teach applied CFD, and guide our development teams to create new models that grow our capabilities and application areas.
CustomerTechnical Support
Provide high caliber technical support to customers across diverse application areas including Water & Environmental Engineering, Metal Casting, Welding, Additive Manufacturing, Aerospace, and Consumer Products. Diagnose simulation issues, recommend best practices, and guide customers toward optimal solutions for their specific applications.
Training and EducationDeliver comprehensive training to customers through both online and in-person formats. Develop and present technical content that enables users to maximize the value of our CFD software, adapting your teaching approach to audiences with varying levels of expertise.
Customer DevelopmentConduct structured customer interviews to understand their technical needs, workflow challenges, and business objectives. Identify opportunities for product enhancement and potential growth areas that align with customer requirements.
Documentation and Content CreationWrite clear, accurate technical documentation including user guides, application notes, and best practice documents. Develop engaging training videos and tutorials that help users understand complex CFD concepts and software functionality.
Validation and TestingConduct simulation validations to verify software accuracy and performance against experimental data and benchmark cases. Test new software developments and features, providing feedback to the development team to ensure product quality and usability.
Stay current with advances in CFD methodologies, numerical techniques, and industry-specific applications. Contribute to the technical knowledge base of the organization.
Required Skills & Experience- Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong foundation in fluid mechanics fundamentals and numerical methods.
- Experience with computational fluid dynamics software and simulation workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with customers or clients in a technical capacity.
- Self‑motivated with strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Experience in one or more of our key application areas: water and environmental engineering, metal casting, welding, additive manufacturing, aerospace, or consumer products.
- Background in customer-facing technical roles such as applications engineering or technical support.
- Programming or scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, etc.).
