Supply Chain Engineer

Role description

Initiate and lead the efforts to identify and qualify second sources for material availability, cost reduction, and reliability improvement purposes. Develop and execute component evaluation, acceptance, and qualification test plans. Identify critical and high-risk components in products and develop and execute reliability test plans for these components. Conduct regular audits for key component suppliers. Communicate to component manufacturers regarding component failures, drive component failure analysis and corrective actions to closure.

Review, analyse, and optimize Bills of Materials (BOMs) down to manufacturer part level. Ensure components are compliant with environmental and safety standards (e.g., RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, CSA, Conflict Minerals, etc.). Maintain Approved Vendor List (AVL); issue Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), and Deviations. Review and address Product Change Notices (PCNs) from component manufacturers. Track component life cycles;

proactively identify and drive solutions to resolve End-of-Life (EOL) and obsolete situations and minimize impacts. Act as focal point for Contract Manufacturing for all technical component issues. Understand component technologies, roadmaps, and trends and present them to Design Engineering.

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, performance and internal equity.
