Job SummaryThe Phlebotomy Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of phlebotomy operations within their specified location including the daily operation and duties of phlebotomist. The incumbent must be capable of performing, teaching and monitoring all functions within the laboratory including but not limited to scheduling, specimen collection, labeling, receipt, processing, delivery and archiving. This individual has the responsibility for working and communicating with various health professionals with the organization as need to complete tasks on a daily basis.
This is a working Supervisor position, which means that there is an expectation to assist with collections when the workload warrants it. This hands-on approach ensures that we maintain smooth operations and effective support for our team.
The shift hours are from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. Rotating on-call duty every third weekend, as well as on rotating holidays.
Description of Job ResponsibilitiesHigh School degree or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification RequirementsSuccessful completion of Phlebotomist training with certification as a phlebotomist required.
Professional Experience RequirementsFive (5) years of relevant experience performing phlebotomy functions in a medical setting. Prior management experience preferred. Ability to use a computer and type.
