Position Overview
Postdoctoral Research Associate (Postdoctoral Fellowships in Autism Spectrum Disorder, 1‑2 years).
Location:
Chapel Hill, NC. Full‑time temporary, 40 hours per week.
Start date:
July 1, 2026. Duration: 12 months.
TEACCH at UNC is a university‑based regional autism program providing clinical, teaching, and research services. It runs seven community regional clinics and a residential/vocational training facility, delivering diagnostic evaluations, therapy, and specialized intervention programs.
ResponsibilitiesClinical duties: diagnostic evaluations, individual and group therapy sessions, early-intervention and school-based programs, parent coaching, adult dialectical behavior therapy groups, and residential care support.
Research duties: study efficacy of TEACCH clinical and training programs, analyze data from a database of >14,000 individuals, contribute to publications, and present at conferences.
Teaching duties: supervise interns, postdocs, and graduate students in clinical and research activities.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements- Doctoral degree required.
- Prior clinical and/or research training focused on autism.
- Strong background in Clinical or School Psychology.
- Doctoral training and internship completed at APA‑accredited programs.
- Experience in a high‑performing academic medical or clinical team.
- Familiarity with autism intervention research and telehealth programs.
