SummaryThe University of North Carolina Medical Center Department of Pharmacy's Oncology Pharmacy team has an immediate opening for a highly motivated individual interested in providing patient care to our medical oncology inpatient service.
The Clinical Pharmacist will work to support the inpatient Medical Oncology service. This service admits and manages patients with a variety of solid tumors for inpatient management, supportive, and palliative care needs. This individual will provide pharmacotherapy services, medication profile review, response to drug information questions, order verification, problem resolution and distributive functions as needed. In addition, this person will work closely with other members of the Department of Pharmacy to address any needs that might arise and that require this person's qualifications and/or expertise.
The individual will serve as a preceptor for both pharmacy residents at UNC Hospitals and pharmacy students as a part of the institution's relationship with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
Qualified candidates will have earned a BS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school/college of pharmacy and must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of North Carolina. The designation of Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) and completion of a PGY2 oncology residency or an equivalent level of pharmacy experience is also preferred.

- Active pharmacist licensure with the NC Board of Pharmacy or obtainable before initiation of employment. Recent graduates of ACPE-accredited colleges/schools of pharmacy may fill this role while pending initial pharmacist licensure, but are subject to limitations mandated by the NC Board of Pharmacy and must obtain licensure within 6 months of orientation or sooner if required for operations.
