The UNC JR Transplant Clinic is a leading specialty clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient‑centered transplant care. Our multidisciplinary team works closely together to support patients throughout every phase of the transplant journey from evaluation and pre‑transplant preparation to post‑transplant follow‑up and long‑term care. Schedule and Location- Address: 100 Manning Dr, Chapell Hill, NC 27514
- Monday-Friday 8a-5p
- No weekends
- No holidays
$7,500 will be paid over a three‑year period in three equal installments (12 months, 24 months, and 36 months). Payment will be treated as taxable income and directly deposited in your paycheck.
Position SummaryThe Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will provide high‑quality clinical and administrative support to transplant patients and the multidisciplinary transplant team. This role requires compassion, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment while ensuring exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient intake, vital signs, and preparation for clinic visits.
- Coordinate clinic flow with the direction of the clinic nurse.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, and the transplant team.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage inventory of clinical supplies and assist with medication reconciliation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings.
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) through an accredited program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience; transplant or specialty care experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate Care: Demonstrates empathy and sensitivity to the unique needs of transplant patients and their families.
- Organized & Detail‑Oriented: Manages multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
